Larch Outdoor Education<\/h1>\n

Come learn with us along the shores of the Clearwater River and Seeley Lake, which the Salish call \u201cwhere there are osprey.\u201d Students immersed in this one-of-a-kind outdoor education experience learn from the land and its inhabitants through the lenses of curiosity, reciprocity and relationship.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The Larch Outdoor Education Program is an educational opportunity for 4-6th grade classrooms of students to experience Camp Paxson over three days\/two nights or five days\/four nights. Our educators work at a 15:1 or less student-to-teacher ratio. Our lessons align with Montana\u2019s Indian Education For All, Next Generation Science Standards and Montana Common Core standards. During May, June, September, and October, classroom teachers bring their classes to Camp Paxson for place-based, experiential learning led by our educators. Lessons are based on observation, investigation, interpretation and creation.<\/span><\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Transformative Connections through Nature<\/h2>\n

Students arrive at Larch full of excitement and anticipation and leave changed. Based on classroom teacher feedback, students\u2019 immersive time connecting with nature transforms their relationship with learning, with the outdoors and with each other. Students return to their home communities and school classrooms having grown in many ways, including a newfound love of science, an ability to be more in tune with themselves, a stronger sense of classroom community, and a more positive relationship with learning and with nature.<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n
